Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or case number entered into a search tool is sent to the third-party provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and returns its result under its own practices. Wayne County Court Docket does not maintain a log or database of the search terms entered through those tools.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you contact us by email, we retain the message and the information needed to respond. We do not disclose that correspondence outside our organization unless disclosure is required by law or is necessary to respond to the request.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page is requested, routine technical information may be recorded to operate, secure, and evaluate the site. That information can include:
- the device IP address;
- browser version, device type, and operating system;
- pages viewed and approximate time spent on them;
- the referring site, when one is supplied; and
- timestamps associated with page requests.
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies and analytics tools may be used to understand aggregate traffic, site performance, and page use. Browser controls can limit or block cookies, although some functions may then operate differently. Analytics information is used in aggregate rather than as a court-record file about a visitor.
What We Do With This Data
Technical and contact information may be used to keep the service available, route a search request to its provider, improve pages, diagnose problems, protect the service, and support advertising delivered through third parties. It is not used to create or maintain court-record profiles.
- Operating and protecting the site;
- measuring traffic and page performance;
- responding to communications;
- troubleshooting technical faults; and
- supporting advertising or analytics services.
No Court-Record Data on File
Wayne County Court Docket does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a database of dockets, case files, or personal case-record information. It provides reference material about where public Wayne County records can be sought. County-court records are kept by clerk magistrate Ashley Siebrandt, while district records are kept by District Clerk Diane Pieper. The public search route is JUSTICE, subject to the court system’s access rules.
Public electronic access is governed by Nebraska Judicial Branch Article 8. Juvenile, adoption, sealed, protected, and personal or financial information can be restricted or redacted. A public search result is not a full court file or a certified copy.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search widgets are operated by outside providers. Information entered into one of those tools is governed by that provider’s privacy policy, retention practices, and disclosure rules. We do not control its results, fees, data handling, or availability. Review the provider’s policy before submitting information through its service.
Links to Other Websites
Links can lead to official court, clerk, Nebraska Judicial Branch, and other third-party resources. Once you leave Wayne County Court Docket, the receiving service’s terms and privacy policy apply. We are not responsible for the content, availability, privacy practices, or data handling of an external service.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity or deliver advertisements. Their practices are governed by their own notices, not this policy.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed or disclosed to the extent needed by:
- third-party search providers handling a submitted query;
- analytics and advertising providers supporting the site;
- service providers helping operate or secure the site; and
- governmental or law-enforcement bodies when legally required.
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used for the information we handle. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, however, and security against every unauthorized event cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The service is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from people under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor has provided personal information through the site, contact us so the issue can be reviewed and addressed.
Your Data Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you, and you may ask about applicable processing choices. Nebraska’s Public Records Act §84-712 provides a general examination and copying framework for public records, while Article 8 and court rules control access to court records. Those laws do not create a right to restricted court content through this private reference service.
- Request a copy of information we maintain about you;
- ask us to correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete information where applicable; and
- ask about available choices for certain processing.
Updates to This Policy
We may revise this policy as practices or services change. A revised version becomes effective when posted here, and the effective date will be updated with it.
